In his address, Chairman of the HCM City Labor Federation Bui Thanh Nhan said trade unions at all levels are working to implement the directives of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam in strengthening worker support beyond short-term assistance to include sustainable job creation, higher incomes, and better living conditions.
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has announced the implementation of 7 programs aimed at improving workers’ livelihoods, with a strong focus on promoting innovation, enhancing productivity, and ensuring stable employment and income. A priority is fostering emulation movements for skilled and creative labor to encourage workers to propose initiatives and technical improvements.
“The HCM City Labor Federation has developed activities based on specific goals and criteria, which will be widely implemented throughout the trade union system. We hope that, building on Workers’ Month, these activities will be sustained throughout the year. Our guiding principle is to focus on the grassroots level with priorities for disadvantaged union members and those in difficult circumstances, ensuring broader and more diverse support,” said Mr. Nhan.
In Hanoi, a ceremony to mark the 140th anniversary of International Workers’ Day was held Tuesday, alongside the launch of Workers’ Month 2026 activities.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, outlined 8 city-level initiatives to be implemented during Workers’ Month. These include strengthening communications to give employers and employees a greater sense of responsibility for ensuring a safe work environment, and organizing a dialogue between workers and the Chairman of the city People’s Committee.
