Held under the theme “Unity – Democracy – Innovation – Creativity – Development,” the congress will gather 1,138 official delegates and 200 invited guests.
The political report to be presented at the congress is titled: “Enhancing the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Core Political Role in Promoting Democracy, Patriotism and the Great National Unity Bloc for a Prosperous, Civilized and Happy Nation.” The report is regarded as the central document guiding the Front’s activities in the coming term.
The congress also marks a significant organizational transition as socio-political organizations and mass associations assigned by the Party and State are restructured under the Vietnam Fatherland Front, creating new demands for organizational reform and operational methods.
Preparations for the congress have been carried out comprehensively and methodically. Nguyen Binh Minh, Chief of the Office of the Vietnam Father Land Front’s Central Committee said the congress has identified three key breakthroughs aimed at fundamentally renewing the organization and operations of the Front toward closer engagement with local communities and citizens.
“The new term focuses on three major breakthroughs. First, improving mechanisms and strongly renewing the operational content and methods of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, with a focus on grassroots communities and citizens. Second, improving the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism in a more proactive manner from the policy-making stage to implementation. Third, building a professional and dedicated contingent of Front officials capable of meeting the demands of the new situation,” he said.
Alongside continuing existing social movements, the draft political report also proposes launching new campaigns such as “All People Join Hands to Protect the Environment for a Green, Clean and Beautiful Vietnam.”
