At the launch ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, who is also Chairwoman of the Sponsorship Council of the Vietnam Children's Fund, emphasized the importance of protecting children in cyberspace.
“We cannot allow Vietnam’s 26 million children to enter the digital environment without proper guidance, support, and safeguards against negative impacts. Equipping children with digital skills and online life skills is essential. We must focus on implementing comprehensive measures to protect children in cyberspace. The education sector and other authorities need to strengthen children’s digital literacy, self-protection skills, and awareness of online,” she said.
The Vice President called on all sectors and localities to continue building safe and child-friendly environment, improve the legal framework, strictly handle acts of violence and abuse against children, and pay greater attention to children in remote and disadvantaged areas, ethnic minority communities, and vulnerable circumstances.
Vice President Xuan visited the Quang Ninh Social Assistance Center and presented scholarships and gifts to the center and the 54 children being cared for there.
