The directive aims to create a major breakthrough in improving the effectiveness of intellectual property protection, contributing to a transparent and healthy business and investment environment while enhancing Vietnam’s international reputation in global integration.

Under the directive, authorities are tasked with dismantling websites and organizations operating major online copyright infringement platforms, especially illegal sites providing movies, music, mobile games, and television programs in Vietnamese and foreign languages, particularly English. The crackdown will also target counterfeit goods and industrial property violations, while customs authorities will strengthen inspections of cross-border imports and exports and proactively suspend customs clearance procedures when there is clear evidence of intellectual property infringement.

The directive also requires provincial and municipal leaders to urgently establish inter-agency task forces to effectively implement the assigned measures.
