According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Vietnam welcomed 2.1 million foreign visitors in March alone, despite ongoing disruptions to travel from geopolitical tensions.
China and South Korea remained the two largest markets in Q1, contributing 1.4 million and 1.3 million visitors respectively, and accounting for roughly 40% of total arrivals.
Arrivals from Europe posted a notable increase of 55.6%, emerging as a key driver of growth. In particular, the Russian market surged 163.4%, signaling rising demand for Vietnam as a destination.
Visitor numbers from North America and Oceania also expanded, with arrivals from the United States up 17% and Canada 24.2%, while Australia and New Zealand recorded growth of 18.4% and 19.4%, respectively.
The data shows not only an expansion in overall visitor volumes but also a broadening of Vietnam’s international tourism base, as the sector continues its efforts to strengthen resilience and support sustainable long-term development.
