Vietnam Coast Guard conducts survey in southwestern sea, islands

[VOVWORLD] - The Vietnam Coast Guard’s working group surveyed the southwestern sea and islands this week, focusing on defense, security, and economic development potential in the coastal waters from An Giang to Can Tho.

The four-day voyage was to concretize the coordinated program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" for the period 2026-2031.

In addition to assessing the implementation of socio-economic projects, the group inspected and controlled vessels at sea, disseminated information, and urged fishermen to strictly comply with regulations on illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The coast guard members also visited and presented gifts to officers, soldiers, and people working and living on the islands.
