Morocco made the stronger start, unsettling Brazil with their high-tempo, aggressive approach. After creating a series of dangerous chances, Morocco took the lead in the 17th minute. Brazil responded by pushing higher up the pitch and restored parity through an equalizer in the 30th minute.

Brazil, the five-time world champions, dominated much of the remainder of the contest and carved out numerous scoring opportunities but were unable to convert them. Morocco also remained a constant threat on the counterattack, repeatedly testing the Brazilian defense. Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou produced a string of outstanding saves, while at the other end Alisson was called into action late in stoppage time to deny Neil El Aynaoui’s long-range effort.

The 1-1 draw is a disappointing start to the tournament for Brazil, while Morocco once again underlined their status as one of the toughest opponents, building on the momentum of their remarkable 2022 World Cup.
