On Friday, the task force discovered and collected 10 sets of martyrs' remains and 3 sets of relics in Area B. From June 23 to August 14, forces discovered and collected 321 sets of martyrs' remains, of which 182 sets contained relics. The collected remains include 288 individual sets of remains and 33 sets of remains at 8 mass grave locations in the park.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung, Political Commissar of Ho Chi Minh City Command and Standing Deputy Head of the City Steering Committee on searching, gathering and identifying martyrs' remains, said that with a drastic and urgent effort, the mission at Le Thi Rieng Park will be completed before November 2026.
"Ho Chi Minh City still has 12 suspected sites of mass graves containing the remains of fallen soldiers. Without urgent, decisive action, completing this mission—particularly within the "500 Days and Nights" campaign leading up to July 27, 2027—will be extremely difficult."
"Driven by a deep sense of responsibility and determination, the team is working in shifts to expand the search at Le Thi Rieng Park. We work tirelessly—hour by hour, minute by minute, and second by second—to locate the fallen soldiers," Major General Trung added.
