VOVWORLD Director Pho Cam Hoa told participants about what has been achieved, including a gold award for radio reportage, a bronze award for podcasts, and the best presenter award at the 17th National Radio Festival in April, and the “Best Radio Programme” award from the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD).
VOVWORLD has launched podcast channels in Vietnamese, English, French and Chinese. From September 1, it will add nine more channels in Japanese, Korean, Thai, Khmer, Lao, Indonesian, Russian, German and Spanish.
“In the digital transformation process, VOVWORLD’s reporters and editors have worked to strengthen our radio broadcasts and website while expanding our presence on digital platforms. Nearly 100 staff members are working in the VOVWORLD family. The achievements we see today are the result of our collective effort, unity and the support of preceding generations,” Director Hoa said.
Former Director of VOVWORLD Nguyen Thi Hue said: “The overseas service has gained many more achievements far beyond what we did in the past. We feel very fortunate and proud because we spent so many years working here. Congratulations to the younger generation. I hope you will continue to progress and achieve even more.”
Vanessa Muhlheim, an expert working for the French Service, said: “Over the years at VOV, I have learned a great deal about professional journalism, as well as about Vietnam, its people and culture. As a Vietnamese-French person, I have the opportunity to use French to tell stories about Vietnam while also deepening my understanding of the Vietnamese language and culture. This is one of the most rewarding aspects of working at VOV: bringing Vietnam closer to international audiences through different languages, perspectives and stories.”
The dedication and support of previous generations will provide further strength for today’s reporters and editors to advance forward with confidence, constantly innovating Vietnam’s external communications in the new era.
