A series of events are held from September 25 to October 5. In Hanoi, the highlight will be a ceremony on Sunday at the National Convention Center, where Ministry of Science and Technology will release its 2026 Annual Innovation Report and the Provincial Innovation Index (PII), and present awards of the Science Initiative Competition.
Other events will include a National Forum on the Future of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, a forum on innovation in finance and banking, a Mekong Sub-region Innovation Forum, and an exhibition of technology.
Last week, there was a workshop on “Developing Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation to Support Double-Digit Economic Growth in the Mekong Delta.”
At the event in Can Tho city, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khoi said: “Can Tho is honored to host this workshop, a significant event for the development of the Mekong Delta. With the Ministry of Science and Technology’s support, we believe science, technology, innovation and digital transformation will help drive double-digit growth in the region.”
At Monday meeting in Hanoi of the Central Steering Committee on the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said: “Resolution 57 sets the target that by 2030, the digital economy will account for at least 30% of GDP, with its contribution to economic growth exceeding 55%. Science and technology and digital transformation can no longer be just secondary drivers of growth. They must become the primary drivers, with their impact measured by concrete results, particularly higher productivity and stronger economic competitiveness.”
The Ministry of Science and Technology also aims to make Innovation Day a platform connecting overseas Vietnamese scientists, international experts, businesses, capital, and markets to boost the application and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
