From Phong Quang commune center, visitors begin their journey along narrow paths leading into the center of the natural forest. The deeper they venture, the cooler and fresher the air becomes. Towering ancient trees intertwine with vast groves of green bamboo, forming a natural canopy.

The Phong Quang bamboo forest is one of the highlights of this hiking route. Tall, straight bamboo stalks stretch skyward, offering a majestic and comforting atmosphere. As the wind sweeps through, the entire forest is filled with a gentle rustling, a symphony of nature.

After nearly an hour of hiking, Lung Pang Waterfall appears with its powerful cascades. Here, visitors can relax in the refreshing water and capture beautiful, picturesque photographs.

Luong Duy Doanh, a visitor from Hanoi, said: "Lung Pang Waterfall is amazingly beautiful. It is about 30 meters high, with water cascading down year-round. It's a fantastic destination for travellers to swim and rest after a long journey."

Rejuvenated, hikers may continue trekking through the forest, crossing bamboo groves, lush bamboo forests, and gently flowing streams. They eventually arrive at a vast green meadow with abundant sunshine.

The journey through the primary forest also leads visitors past ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees that have stood on the mountainsides for decades, or even centuries.

Tran Thi Hien, a visitor from Nghe An province, said: "It takes about 1 km to hike to Lung Pang Waterfall, which is absolutely worthwhile. The waterfall is stunning. Once you get there, all the exhaustion simply disappears. Learning about the ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees is also another highlight of the experience. From the waterfall, the trail passes through the forest to a wide, beautiful valley, then the bamboo and wild banana forests. It’s an unforgettable journey."

In recent years, activity-based wellness, and sports tourism have become increasingly popular. With its well-preserved natural landscapes, Phong Quang is considered well suited for developing hiking, trekking, and community-based tourism. This tourism trend is creating additional livelihood opportunities for local residents.

Chu Thi Do, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Tourism Promotion Center, said: "During the hiking route in Phong Quang commune, visitors will discover Lung Pang Waterfall, trek across grasslands, and admire centuries-old Shan Tuyet tea trees. These experiences reconnect people with nature and the indigenous culture. These values are hard to find in other localities."

Amid the increasingly fast pace of modern life, destinations like Lung Pang offer travelers a chance to reconnect with nature, restore their sense of balance, and return home refreshed in body and mind. It is also the special appeal of tourism in Thai Nguyen today, where pristine beauty is preserved amid the vast, lush green forests.
