12th National Party Congress promotes openness, democracy

(VOVworld) – Attendees of the 12th National Party Congress in Hanoi strongly believe that with the straightforwardness of the 11th Party Central Committee’s report, the 12th National Party Congress will successfully work out fundamental guidelines for future Party building and national development.

Party members commented that the 11th Party Central Committee’s report presented by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong honestly pointed out shortcomings which need to be resolved and outlined major tasks for the 12th National Party Congress. Phan Van Su is from Tay Ninh province: “Attending the Congress and listening to a report by the Party chief, I strongly believe that the Congress will be a success and that the Congress’s resolutions will be implemented effectively, contributing to rapid, sustainable, comprehensive national development.”

Attendees will focus on anti-corruption, combating negative influences and political opportunism, improving the state apparatus, and national development orientations. Nguyen Dang Tuc is from Bac Ninh province: “I appreciate the 11th Party Central Committee’s serious review of its leadership, particularly the implementation of the resolution on Party building. The Central Committee has mentioned socio-economic targets in the next term and we’ll overcome obstacles and grasp opportunities to achieve them.”

Attendees said the Congress has promoted democracy and openness in discussions of documents, the criteria and scale of the Party Central Committee, and voting on a number of documents. Hoang Van Toan is from Vinh Phuc province: “Attendees will contribute their opinions to the Party documents, elect competent people to the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and key positions in the Party and State to lead the nation through difficulties toward development, protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and accelerate Party building.”
