(VOVWORLD) - The latest report on Artificial Intelligence Readiness by Oxford Insights ranks Vietnam 55th globally in 2022, 7 places higher than in 2021, as a result of greater development and investment in AI technology.
A national strategy on AI research, development, and application was approved by the government in January, 2021. It set the goal of making AI an important part of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the country. Vietnam is striving to become a center of innovation, solution development, and AI application in Southeast Asia and the world by 2030.
Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Thua Thien-Hue have applied AI in health, education, and public administrative services.
Thua Thien-Hue province has used the Hue-S smart city platform since 2019 after a year of pilot operation. Hue-S uses AI to quickly reflect public opinion to city leaders. Over the last 3 years 10 corporations and businesses have integrated 15 digital services using the app.
Businesses have created a number of new AI applications. The FPT Group, which began studying AI in 2013, has developed an AI ecosystem of diverse products, solutions, and platforms for businesses and organizations to maximize their productivity. FPT has invested 13 million USD in AI research.
The Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group has been developing AI products since 2015. With the launch of the Viettel AI Open Platform, Viettel provided tools that individuals, organizations, and businesses can use to integrate and customize their applications. More than 70,000 individuals and organizations are using Viettel AI Open Platform. Viettel has also developed AI applications for identification and security monitoring.
In the past few years, Vietnamese enterprises have built AI research and development centers and recruited AI experts from around the world.
