(VOVWORLD) - The 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is set to return from May 31 to July 12 under the theme “Da Nang – The New Rising Era”. This is the most anticipated international cultural and tourism event of the year. This year's festival introduces several exciting new features, promising a fresh and immersive experience for both domestic and foreign audiences.

DIFF 2025 will have the most participating teams (10) and the longest duration (May 31 to July 12) in the festival’s history.
The lineup includes teams from Poland, Finland, Portugal, the UK, South Korea, Italy, Canada, and China, who are the top names in the global pyrotechnics industry. The Finnish team—the DIFF 2024 champions—return to defend their title, rejoining former champions from Italy (2018), China (2009), and Canada (2008). Newcomers from Portugal and the UK are expected to deliver surprising and creative displays.

For the first time Vietnam will have two teams participating in the festival: the host team from Da Nang, a familiar name in past competitions, and Z121 Vina Pyrotech of Chemical One Member Limited Liability Company 21 of the Ministry of National Defense, a new but formidable contender with 30 years of experience in fireworks manufacturing and exports.
DIFF 2025’s stage will cover 1,600 square meters, 60% larger than last year and the most grandiose in the festival’s history. Inspired by Da Nang’s natural beauty, the design evokes the image of the Ngu Hanh Son (Marble) mountains, surrounding a shining pearl that symbolizes national unity and pride.

The stage incorporates cutting-edge technology that will create an interactive augmented reality experience.
Mr. Huynh Nam Thang, Vice Chairman and General Director of Sun Group Central Region, said: “At DIFF 2025, we want to give audiences a unique gift through AR technology. For the first time, spectators can use their smartphones to view AR visuals of Da Nang’s iconic landmarks, such as the Dragon Bridge, the Marble Mountains, and My Khe Beach while watching the fireworks. Spectators will be able to enjoy the show both live and virtually, experiencing unforgettable emotions that blend reality with Da Nang’s most symbolic images.”
The opening night on May 31, themed “Cultural Essence,” will kick off the season in spectacular fashion. Team Da Nang (Vietnam 1) will highlight the Vietnamese cultural identity through a performance filled with national spirit. Meanwhile, reigning champion Finland will light up the Han River sky with a display inspired by the aurora borealis, capturing the magical charm of Northern Europe.
These performances, meticulously choreographed, will feature thousands of fireworks perfectly synchronized with music, creating a symphony of light and sound over the Han River.
After 12 years, DIFF has firmly established itself as a cultural event, earning Da Nang the title "City of Fireworks."
