Ethnic groups believe in National Party Congress

(VOVWORLD) - Ethnic people nationwide are confident the 13th National Party Congress will steer the nation to greater success.

Son La province has 12 ethnic minority groups, including the Thai, Dao, and Mong. The Party and State development projects have noticeably improved their life and reduced their poverty rate to 18%. They are optimistic about the 13th National Party Congress.

Vì A Sềnh, Chairman of Co Mạ commune’s People’s Committee, said: “People hope the Congress will set orientations for socio-economic development, national defense and security, and poverty reduction that will further improve their lives.”

Co Tu people in Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province, said they hope the Congress will set guidelines that reflect people’s wishes and will create breakthroughs in socio-economic development and that will improve their life.  Do Huu Tung, a Co Tu man, said: “I hope the 13th National Party Congress will adopt new policies on ethnic affairs that will improve people’s lives and help young people start businesses. We also want new policies on housing, resettlement, and regional development.”

Lưu Sanh Thanh, a Balamon dignitary in Phuoc Thai commune, Ninh Thuan province, has been following the 13th National Party Congress, even though he is very busy harvesting his corn. Thanh says the villagers are happy because their living conditions have improved. The Party and State have paid special attention to improving the electric power, roads, schools, and clinics in rural and remote areas.

“I hope the Congress will set socio-economic development orientations for ethnic communities. The Party and State should help all ethnic groups prosper.”
