Hanoi will organize a New Year countdown at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and August Revolution Square. The city will also set off 15 minutes of fireworks at five places on New Year’s Eve. Ho Chi Minh City will have a fireworks display at two places and countdown programs at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Bach Dang Wharf Park, and the floating island on the Saigon River.

A program to welcome the New Year, called “Hue Countdown 2025 – A New Era”, will be held at the Vo Nguyen Giap-Van Tien Dung intersection, instead of at the Hung Vuong six-way intersection as in previous years. It will be broadcast live on VTV from 9:00 p.m. on December 31 to 1:00 a.m. on January 1.  VTV will connect this program with countdown events in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hai Phong.

Truong Dinh Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Hue municipal People's Committee, said: “The 2025 countdown will be held in a new place, the An Van Duong urban area, a change from previous years. It’s more convenient for big events. This year, we’ll invite famous singers from Vietnam and abroad to perform.”

Nha Trang city will organize countdown parties and fireworks displays at April 2nd Square in Tran Phu street and near the Tran Phu Bridge.

Quy Nhon city will welcome the New Year with a program called "Quy Nhon – Sea Paradise – Rising Prosperity" where famous artists will perform folk and modern pop songs.
