General Secretary To Lam’s visit reflected Vietnam’s new standing and generated fresh momentum for national development in an era of deep and extensive global integration.

Confident and self-reliant in the global arena

The Board of Peace for Gaza is a coordination mechanism with the United Nations to mobilize humanitarian assistance, reconstruction, and regional stabilization efforts. Board members will contribute concrete solutions aimed at ending conflict, restoring peace and security, rebuilding infrastructure, safeguarding livelihoods in the Gaza Strip, and advancing a comprehensive political process in line with international law and the UN Charter.

Vietnam joined the Board’s inaugural meeting with “self-confidence, self-reliance, and resilience,” engaging constructively in the complex Gaza issue while upholding its principles and remaining flexible in its approach.

Vietnam does not take sides in a power competition. Rather, it stands for peace, stability, and the common interests of the international community.

Vietnam’s balanced foreign policy and consistent, substantive contributions to global peace efforts have earned respect and high regard from the international community. Addressing heads of state and leaders of more than 50 countries attending the meeting, US President Donald Trump expressed his honor to receive General Secretary To Lam and his respect for Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam’s presence at a forum on such a complex global hotspot as Gaza was an opportunity to expand partnerships, strengthen political trust, and promote economic, trade, and investment cooperation amid global uncertainties.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung said: "Through this important multilateral diplomatic engagement, Vietnam demonstrated goodwill and an effort to contribute to peace in the Middle East, while further advancing relations with the host country and international partners, including Middle Eastern nations."

New impetus for Vietnam’s takeoff

During his stay in Washington, D.C., Party leader To Lam met with multiple foreign leaders, including President Trump, received US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, and held phone conversations with US lawmakers.

At a critical juncture for the global economy, cooperation agreements in science, technology, digital transformation, aviation, healthcare, and other areas totaling 37.2 billion USD reflect Vietnam’s proactive approach to balancing its trade relations with the US and easing the tariff pressures of Trump’s “America First” policy. These agreements show that the US recognizes Vietnam as a “trusted partner” and “strategic customer”.

The outcomes of General Secretary To Lam’s visit reaffirm a consistent and decisive implementation of the major policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam and show Vietnam confidently stepping into the global arena with determination, vision, and an aspiration to be a nation that integrates and contributes to shared global progress.

The visit has opened up new avenues for cooperation in economic development, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and green transition. These “strategic linkages” may well become substantive drivers for Vietnam’s next phase of growth and national advancement.
