“Quang Trung campaign” embraces national unity

(VOVWORLD) - As of Thursday, the “Quang Trung campaign”, an initiative to rapidly rebuild or repair homes damaged by recent storms and floods in Vietnam’s central region, has been completed nationwide. New well-equipped homes are special Lunar New Year gifts from the Party and the State to the affected families.

Severe flooding between early October and late November last year left thousands of families homeless from Ha Tinh to Lam Dong. With just two months remaining before the Lunar New Year 2026, the Party and State took swift, resolute action to ensure that everyone would have a safe home to welcome Vietnam’s biggest festival.

On November 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh launched the “Quang Trung campaign”, aiming to ensure that by January 15, 2026, every family would have secure, solid housing for Tet.

The armed forces worked around the clock in sun and rain to fulfill their task by the deadline. Officers and soldiers carrying bags of cement and sheets of roofing along muddy roads, erecting pillars, and re-roofing homes have left a profound impression on local communities.

Some of the beneficiaries said:

“What moved us most was seeing police officers working day and night, even in the rain.”

“Despite difficult terrain, poor transportation, prolonged cold rain, and shortages of materials, the officers and coordinated forces did not hesitate. They set up tarpaulins at the sites to keep the construction going.”

In just over a month, 34,700 damaged homes have been repaired, meeting 100%of the target, and nearly 1,600 homes that were destroyed have been replaced. The success of the Quang Trung campaign demonstrates the power of unity between the Party’s will and the people’s hearts and putting people at the center of every decision and action.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Dung Chinh, Commander of Brigade 682, Naval Region 4, said: “We see this mission as a call to each soldier’s heart. Treating every resident as a member of our own family, we work urgently so people can regain security and rebuild their lives.”

Implemented with maximum speed and determination, the Quang Trung campaign reflects the nation’s shared compassion. Every brick laid embodies the spirit of kinship and solidarity and society’s concern for flood-affected communities.
