Quang Trung Campaign turns flood-hit ruins into permanent homes

(VOVWORLD) -Launched in early December 2025 after historic floods in central and central highlands regions, Quang Trung Campaign, the government-led initiative, has to date repaired nearly 35,000 damaged houses and rebuilt more than 1,500 others for residents affected by the natural calamity.

After more than a month of construction with the spirit of “speed, decisiveness, and effectiveness,” the central and central highlands provinces have basically completed the campaign. It’s the result of effective coordination between the military and the people's police forces after days and nights of staying on the ground, braving the sun and rain, and working with strong will.

Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, said, “The Quang Trung Campaign can be described as miraculous as it is completed in just over a month. New houses are built in Dak Lak at a cost of up to 170 million VND (6,500 USD), not including the labor of the soldiers and the donated materials. This is also an extraordinary effort, involving the extremely active participation of armed forces units, the Army, and the Police, to help people quickly stabilize their lives.”

As the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 is approaching, flood-affected people are given a special gift, a sturdy house to live in.
