(VOVworld) - A photo exhibition and film week opened in Paris, France on Saturday showcasing hundreds of unique photos, publications and documentaries. The event is part of activities marking the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France relations and promoting Vietnam as global tourist attraction in 2014. The photos and films feature the relations between Vietnam and France, the unique French architecture in Vietnam, Vietnam’s seas and islands, Vietnamese traditional craft villages, festivals and the development of Vietnamese press. In his address, Benoit Paumier, General Commissioner of the France-Vietnam Year said that the event is of great importance in boosting friendship between the two peoples: “The French year in Vietnam gave us an opportunity to promote our country to Vietnamese people. Now, the Vietnamese year in France is attracting great attention from the French public. The event was launched with a performance at the Chatelet theater in Paris under the chairmanship of the Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. There has been a series of other activities including exhibitions and performances in Quai Brandy museum, in Paris theater hall and Festival Made in Asia in Toulouse”.

The exhibition and film week will last until May 3.
