(VOVWORLD) -Organizations and individuals transferred more than 1 trillion VND (more than 42 million USD) to the account of the Central Relief Mobilization Committee as of 5 p.m. on Saturday, to help people recover from Typhoon Yagi, which ravaged northern Vietnam on September 7.

These donations were in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on Saturday it would organize art programs to raise money to support people in northern provinces and cities suffering heavy damage caused by storms and floods. Six art programs will be held from Sunday to Thursday.
The UK Embassy in Vietnam said that the UK Government will allocate 1 million pounds (1.3 million USD) to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi. The aid will be provided in the form of emergency supplies, cash, and critical services, such as health, clean water, and sanitation to those affected.
