The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival concluded on Sunday night after 12 hectic days. After 5 years without an award, French cinema won the Palme d’Or with “Life of Aden” by French-Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche. “Inside Llewyn David” by American brothers Joel and Ethan Coen won the Grand Prix. “Like father like son” by Japanese director Kore-Eda Hirokazu won the Jury Prize. Mexican director Amat Escalante won the Best Director award for his film "Heli". This was the first time Escalante has been nominated. Berenice Bejo, the French-Argentinean actor who won the César Award for “The Artist” won the Best Actress award for her film "The Past". The Cannes Film Festival has been held annually since 1946.
