(VOVWORLD) -“Quang Trung Campaign", a government initiative which aims to rebuild and repair housing for flood victims in central Vietnam before January 15, 2026, has almost been completed, according to a Government Office press conference on Thursday.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said, “As of 4 PM on January 6, 2026, the number of damaged houses requiring repair was 34,759, with 100% of the repairs completed. The number of houses that have been rebuilt is 1,046, reaching 65.5%, and the number of houses that have started construction but are not yet completed is 551, accounting for 34.5%.”

Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chief of Office and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, briefed on security measures for the 14th National Party Congress.
“We have closely coordinated with the People's Army, ministries, sectors, localities, subcommittees organizing the Congress, and functional forces of other countries in protecting security and order, and ensuring the best possible conditions for the Congress. Given these measures, we assess that, at this point, the security and order environment serving the Congress is ensured," Toan said.
