He told the Americans: Despite all the differences, most of us share certain hope for the American future. We want our kids to grow up in a country where they can access to the best schools and the best teachers, a country that is the global leader in technology, discovery, and innovation. In the coming weeks and months, I'm looking forward to reaching out and working with leaders of both parties to meet the challenges we can only solve together. Reducing our deficit, reforming our tax, we 've got more work to do.

Obama has received congratulations from leaders around the world on his reelection. Chinese President Hu Jin Tao said China will exert efforts to drive the China-US relationship forward. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed their readiness to work with Obama’s administration on the basis of equality and mutual respect and benefits. Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas asked the US President to advocate for peace efforts in the Middle East.
