Brigadier General Saad Maan, a spokesman for Iraq’s Joint Operations Command, confirmed Thursday the closure of the Trebil crossing between Jordan and Iraq.
The aim is to cut off revenue from tolls IS imposes on cargo trucks driving through the territory under their control.
General Maan said the crossing will reopen when the security situation improves.
