Love for Hanoi expressed through children’s paintings

(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations announced the winners of the International Children's Drawing Contest "I love Hanoi – the city for peace" on Thursday.

Winner of the special prize was 11-year-old Devanka Morritz from the Indonesian Embassy. The two first prizes went to Phohne Myat Thaw from the Myanmar Embassy and Nguyen Anh Thy, a student at Hanoi-based Ngo Si Lien secondary school. The winning works will be displayed at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel until Sunday.

The contest was open to Vietnamese and foreign children between the ages of 5 and 16 who are living and studying in Hanoi. Contestants’ paintings express their love for Hanoi as a City for Peace and Creative City, as well as Hanoi’s people, places, and daily life. Some 300 entries were submitted by children from the embassies of the UK, Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, Norway, and the Philippines, and many Hanoi schools.

A photo exhibit entitled "Colors of ASEAN culture" was held Thursday at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with the Embassy of Laos, the rotating Chair of ASEAN 2024, and ASEAN countries in Vietnam. On display were 57 photos ofpeople, historical sites, and landscapes of ASEAN countries, and memorable activities of ASEAN leaders.
