Highlighting the high-level talks in Hanoi on Tuesday between the two Party leaders, China Central Television quoted Xi as saying that returning to Hanoi after six years he felt the deep friendship of the Party, Government, and people of Vietnam.

In the news coverage by China’s Xinhua News Agency and People’s Daily, Xi reaffirmed the close bond between Vietnam and China as comrades and brothers, saying China always views its relations with Vietnam from a strategic and long-term perspective.

Xi expressed his belief that with the joint efforts of both sides, ties between Beijing and Hanoi will enter a new stage, characterized by higher political mutual trust, more concrete security cooperation, deeper win-win cooperation, more solid popular foundations, closer multilateral coordination and better management of differences.

The socialist construction of China and Vietnam will steadily move forward, making new contributions to the stability, development and prosperity of the region and even the world, he added.

Xi said China is ready to share its modernization opportunities and seek shared development with Vietnam. He called for greater investment in a range of fields, including agriculture, education and healthcare, as well as sectors such as youth tourism and at local levels, and improving people’s understanding of the traditional friendship and relationship between the two countries.

Chinese media agencies also highlighted the outcome of the talks, saying China and Vietnam agreed to issue a joint statement on further deepening and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

The Chinese media agencies also ran articles about Vietnam, cooperation between the two sides, and the love the two peoples give each other. Xinhua alone has had dozens of stories about this visit.
