China respects ties with Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - China and Vietnam are close socialist neighbors which have bolstered their comradeship and brotherhood and shared ideological beliefs, said a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijan at a press conference on Tuesday.

Answering reporter’s questions on the phone talk between Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chinese Party leader and President Xi Jinping on Monday, the spokesperson said during the talk, the two sides clarified orientations for bilateral ties in the future.
He said China respects the elevation of China-Vietnam ties and wants to work with Vietnam to foster comprehensive strategic cooperation and further develop bilateral ties between the two Parties and countries and the development of socialism.
During Monday’s phone talk, Mr. Phuc and Mr. Xi emphasized the importance of bilateral ties in their foreign policies.
