Chinese Premier to pay first visit to Japan in decade

(VOVWORLD) - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday began a 4-day official visit to Japan, the first visit of a Chinese premier to Japan since 2011.

Mr. Li is scheduled to attend the Japan-China-South Korea summit on Wednesday and hold talks with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe. He will also pay a courtesy visit to Japanese Emperor Akihito and visit a number of localities. Wednesday’s summit is likely to discuss the North Korea situation and cooperation in combating trade protectionism. The Chinese and Japanese Prime Ministers will discuss ways to improve bilateral ties at their scheduled meeting.
