There will be commemoration of the 690th anniversary of the death of the Third Patriarch, Venerable Truc Lam Huyen Quang.

Diverse activities and rituals will include a contest for making Chung cakes and pounding Day cakes. There will be a water procession, an incense offering ceremony, Hai Duong Province’s mud banger festival, wrestling and a chess competition.

As part of the Spring Festival, the Prime Minister’s decision to recognize the “Set of Three Buddha Statues at Con Son Pagoda” as a national treasure will be announced.

This year’s event also includes a “Week of Culinary Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion”. And for the first time, a nationwide “Cultural Heritage Connection Journey” will be organized.

The Con Son-Kiep Bac relic site has hundreds of relics located on 8,000 hectare spanning eight communes and wards in Chi Linh City in Hai Duong Province.

Together with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang Provinces, Hai Duong is completing a dossier for the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac Relics and Scenic Landscape Complex. The dossier will be submitted to UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage site.
