(VOVworld) – On the 38th National Day of Laos, December 2, Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung sent messages of congratulations to General Secretary of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party and State President Choummaly Sayasone, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, and Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Tathotou.

Vietnamese newspapers on Monday ran articles to mark Lao National Day. The People’s Army newspaper said over the past 38 years, under the leadership of the Laos People’s Revolutionary party, Laotians have obtained important results in national defense and development. From a less-developed country, Laos has steadily developed into a strong economy and has improved its people’s living conditions. Lao’s has recorded an annual economic growth rate of 8% and GDP per capita of 1,200 USD.
