(VOVWorld) Thousands of protesters marched on Egypt's parliament yesterday demanding a swift end to army rule. The protesters demanded an immediate handover of power from the military council to a civilian government.

As demonstrators were about to reach parliament’s headquarters, hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood members blocked their way. Police forces were deployed around the parliament building.Activities to mark the one year overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak over the last few days have caused an eruption of demonstrations against the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
