Deputy PM attends Tree Planting Festival in Quang Ninh
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended a ceremony to launch the 2025 Tree Planting Festival and joined other delegates in planting 1,100 Caribbean pine trees in Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province.

The Deputy PM said planting trees at the beginning of the new year honors President Ho Chi Minh, who initiated the tree planting movement in 1959, and also expresses every individual's responsibility to protect the environment, combat climate change, and contribute to building a green, sustainable Vietnam.
Quang Ninh has a steadily growing forest area whose quality is being improved in a sustainable manner. Its forest coverage is currently at 55%.
Quang Ninh aims to plant nearly 32,000 hectares this year, 2.4 times what was planted last year, to offset the 128,000 hectares destroyed by typhoon Yagi last year.
