Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai issues order on Da River for the Lai Chau Hydropower project

(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in Lai Chau province on Tuesday before the Da River is diverted for the first phase of Lai Chau Hydropower project. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai gave the opening address 'I ask the leaders of all the ministries, provinces, and investors to focus on the following tasks. Firstly, we must ensure this year’s flood control targets are met. Secondly, agencies in Lai Chau province need to pay more attention and improve the local people’s living conditions, especially those who had to be resettled. Finally, the investors and those in charge of managing the work must make sure the project becomes operational in 2016'.
