Deputy PM renews Vietnam’s determination to fight human trafficking

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has requested competent authorities to implement drastic measures to prevent human trafficking, especially in trafficking hotspots and in cyber space.

At a ceremony in Lao Cai province to Tuesday to launch a campaign to combat human trafficking to mark the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and National Day on Anti-Trafficking in Persons (July 30), the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the importance of mobilizing the strength of the entire political system and the people in the fight against human trafficking. 

He called for the active participation of the entire population and domestic and foreign agencies and organizations to eradicate human trafficking, with a special focus on protecting children and vulnerable groups, following this year's theme of "leaving no child behind."

Under the leadership of the Party and with the high determination and participation of the entire political system, the support and engagement of the public and the international community, Vietnam will successfully fight human trafficking crimes,” said Deputy PM Quang.

Over the past years, Vietnam has adopted several policies and programs to to prevent and combat human trafficking. The Government has implemented the Program to Prevent and Combat Human Trafficking for the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030.
