Diverse activities to mark CPV anniversary

(VOV) – Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces have organized Spring Press Festivals to celebrate the 83rd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and welcome the Lunar New Year. Some 300 publications by local or national press agencies will be displayed at the festival which opened on Sunday.

Can Tho city is hosting an ornamental tree exhibition. Visitor Huynh Van Nguyet says: “Almost all the trees at this year’s exhibition are traditional southern ornamental trees. Some are bonsais taken from the forest with fantastic shapes created by nature and the elaborate influence of artisans.”

Kon Tum province’s Youth Union has organized a green sticky rice cake festival which will give 350 cakes and 30 other gifts to poor students and hospital patients. Phan Thi Thuy is the provincial Youth Union’s Vice Secretary. “The children have shown their compassion for less fortunate people. They have been made aware of the program’s importance. They will present the cakes to the people themselves.”

The Sai Gon commercial bank, Sacombank, in Ho Chi Minh city will host a charity festival to distribute gifts worth 4.5 billion Dong to 6,000 lonely elderly people, homeless children, and people with disabilities.

Party cells in the central city of Da Nang have celebrated the 83rd founding anniversary of the CPV and launched this year’s tasks, which include implementing the Politburo’s directive on following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.

Bac Lieu province inaugurated a memorial stele to commemorate the raising of the CPV’s flag on the Party’s founding day on February 3, 1930. The hoisting of the flag for the first time ignited patriotism and nationalism and inspired people to fight against French imperialism.
