(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi's Hai Ba Trung District would resume all activities once September ends if it's listed as a low-risk area, the district People's Committee proposed.

It would divide the reopening process into two phases. The first, from this Tuesday until next Thursday, would allow businesses to reopen at 50% of their maximum capacity. Food and beverage establishments may allow takeaways only, and must close before 9 p.m. daily. Supermarkets, convenience stores and other retail outlets selling essential goods are allowed to operate at maximum capacity.

Non-essential businesses like karaoke parlors, dance clubs, bars, spas, gyms and indoor sports facilities, outdoor entertainment venues and Internet cafes, among others, would need to wait for further instructions from Hanoi People's Committee.

In the second phase, starting October, if the district is deemed a low-risk area, businesses, factories, markets, supermarkets and malls would be allowed to operate at maximum capacity.

Hai Ba Trung district has recorded 243 COVID-19 cases since late April. Around 98% of local adults have received their first COVID-19 vaccine shots.
