Early election preparations underway in Bach Long Vi special zone
(VOVWORLD) - The Bach Long Vi special zone in Hai Phong city will hold elections for the 16th National Assembly and local People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 tenure on March 14, one day ahead of the nationwide Election Day.

According to Nguyen Van Hau, Vice Chairman of the Bach Long Vi People’s Committee, preparations for the event have been carried out thoroughly. Communication campaigns about the election have been intensified, particularly for fishermen operating offshore.
“The special zone has two polling stations. For fishermen who are unable to return to shore on Election Day, mobile ballot boxes will be deployed to ensure they can cast their votes,” said Hau.
Bach Long Vi is the farthest offshore island in the Gulf of Tonkin, located about 120 nautical miles from the mainland.
