The Egyptian Red Crescent Society said this was the 95th humanitarian aid shipment delivered to Gaza under the "Zad Al-Izza: from Egypt to Gaza" initiative, launched in July.

The shipment included 8,000 tons of food, fuel, medicine, and medical equipment, along with 70,000 blankets, winter clothing, and tents. The next delivery is being prepared by 35,000 volunteers around Egypt.

Egypt is a key player in international humanitarian aid operations for Gaza. Over the past two years, Cairo has delivered 700,000 tons of aid, 70% of the total international aid for Gaza.

Egypt has also been serving as a mediator between Israel and Hamas. Egypt, with the US, Qatar, and several other parties, has successfully brokered three ceasefires in Gaza. The latest ceasefire went into effect in early October and is currently still holding, despite repeated violations and frequent risks of collapse.
