Enhancing social responsibility for Agent Orange victims

(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) convened its 6th meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday to approve documents for its 3rd National Congress. In his address, Chairman of the Association Nguyen Van Rinh said the association’s affiliates in 38 provinces and cities have contributed their opinions to the draft documents, which will be further discussed and submitted to the upcoming congress. Participants suggested appropriate policies for Agent Orange victims and association members and continued social activities to support the victims. They said that the association should use the national plan of action for dealing with the consequences caused by the toxic chemicals the US army used during the war in Vietnam until 2015 as a way to map out its future tasks.
