Fire at China’s poultry processing plant kills 119

China’s Jilin provincial rescue force confirmed Monday 119 deaths and 60 injuries caused by the fire at a local poultry slaughterhouse. The fire broke out at 6.30 am at Baoyuanfeng Poultry Plant in Dehui city where 300 people were working. The number of victims stuck in the collapse has yet been announced. Some said faulty electricity was the cause of the blaze. Chinese authorities considered the fire the worst factory disaster since the one in Hunan province killed 309 in December, 2000.
