Four army officers to undertake UN peacekeeping mission

(VOVWORLD) -The President's Decision and the Minister of National Defense's Decision were presented on Wednesday to four officers of the Vietnam People's Army to undertake UN peacekeeping missions.

The officers, who were carefully selected and fully meet the stringent standards of the United Nations, will replace military personnel currently serving in the MINUSCA mission in Central African Republic and be deployed to a new position at the United Nations Office for Peace and Security in Brussels, Belgium.

Presiding over the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense, requested the officers to continue to uphold the fine traditions of the Vietnam People's Army and the Vietnamese Blue Beret force and spread the image of the country and the beauty of the Vietnamese people and army globally.
