An assistant photo journalist was seriously wounded. The man is reported to be between 35 and 45 years old, between 1.7m and 1.8m tall, with a stubble and grey hair, wearing a black vest, a cap, and white-soled green shoes. He had a gun and possibly some explosives. He fired many shots in the business district of La Defense but nobody was injured. He then forced a motorist at gunpoint to drive him to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. French policemen were mobilized to chase this man. Manuel Valls, France’s Minister of the Interior, said the man will be pursued by all available means. Police say the same man entered the offices of the 24-hour news agency BFMTV and escaped saying “Next time, I won’t miss". An image of the man was captured by a security camera at BFMTV. According to French President Francois Hollande, who is now visiting Israel, freedom of information was targeted. Hollande has ordered the French Ministry of the Interior to protect media organizations better.
