(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung chaired a government meeting on Tuesday to discuss adjustments to national plans for electricity and coal development until 2020 with a vision towards 2030. He asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consult other ministries and sectors in order to finalize those projects for implementation early this year.

He said that electricity and coal targets should contribute to national growth, conform to international commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and develop renewable energy. He said that policies on nuclear electricity, which have been approved by the Party Central Committee and the National Assembly, will continue to be implemented in line with the law.
