(VOVworld) – Greece introduced higher tax rates on a number of goods and services on Monday. This is part of Greek efforts to implement a commitment to austerity reforms. The value-added tax rate will increase from 13% to 23%. Greek banks will reopen after three weeks of suspension. A withdrawal limit of 60 euros per account per day has been replaced with a weekly limit of 420 euros. A ban on all inbound and outbound international shipments, which is stifling Greek businesses that rely on foreign trade remains in place.
