(VOVworld) – Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) inaugurated the 110-kV Ha Tien-Phu Quoc undersea cable system in Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province on Thursday.

The system, the longest in Southeast Asia, stretches 58km from Thuan Yen village in Ha Tien town to Ham Ninh village in Phu Quoc district.

The construction of the 110-million USD undersea cable began in November 2013 and connected Phu Quoc island to the national electricity grid on February 2. The project has ensured a stable and safe electricity supply to the islanders.
