India hosts international fleet review under unity theme
(VOVWORLD) -Warships and aircraft from across the world gathered off India’s coast on Wednesday as the country hosted the International Fleet Review (IFR-MILAN 2026) at the Visakhapatnam anchorage in Andhra Pradesh.

The event drew representatives from more than 70 countries, along with 71 frontline ships and submarines and 50 aircraft. Of those vessels, 45 were from the Indian Navy. Vietnam sent Ship 17 of the 171st Brigade, Region 2 of the Vietnam Navy, to take part in the review.

In her opening remarks, President Droupadi Murmu said the International Fleet Review 2026 reflected a spirit of unity, trust and respect among nations, in line with the theme “United Through Oceans.” She said the gathering sent a message that collective naval strength can overcome common challenges.

The president also highlighted India’s approach to international relations based on the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” or “the world is one family.” She said the concept promotes cooperation and shared responsibility in building a stable and sustainable maritime order. She also underscored the vision of MAHASAGAR, short for Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth across Regions.
The event marks the 13th Fleet Review held since India’s independence and the third international edition hosted by the country.
