Vietnam People's Navy to take part in Milan multilateral exercise in India

(VOVWORLD) - A working delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy onboard Ship 17 of Brigade 171, Naval Region 2 departed for India to join the Milan 2026 multilateral naval exercise.

The delegation led by Colonel Le Dinh Nghi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 2, and Ship 17 will pay courtesy calls on local authorities at ports of call and the Lumut naval base of the Royal Malaysian Navy, host a reception, and join cultural, artistic and sports exchanges with the host country. In India, they will participate in the multilateral naval exercise.

During the more than 5,000-nautical-mile journey, officers and sailors aboard Ship 17 will practice long-distance sea training to improve command and coordination capabilities, combat readiness, proficiency in operating weapons and equipment, and physical endurance.

The Vietnam Navy’s trip is conducted at the invitation of the Malaysian Navy and the Indian Navy, aiming to strengthen the friendship and cooperative relations between the Vietnamese military and navy and those of other countries.
