Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Vikram Misri called the violations “very serious” and urged Pakistan to take appropriate measures to resolve the situation responsibly.

On Saturday afternoon, the two countries had agreed to stop all military activities against each other on land, sea, and air starting 5:00 PM Indian time (4:30 PM Pakistan time) on May 10. The decision was made following a phone call between their top military commanders.

Deputy Minister Misri also said that a Director General of Military Operations (DGMO)-level meeting would be held on May 12.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that the ceasefire took immediate effect.

The leaders of many countries and international organizations welcomed the ceasefire, calling it a timely decision to de-escalate tensions.
