(VOVworld) - The index of industrial production (IIP) for the first five months of this year has risen by 4.2 percent over the same period last year.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment revealed at a meeting today/ on Friday that stocks of some products including cement, mortar, vehicles and beer remain high with a year-on-year increase of 29.4 percent. According to reports, the total value of ODA agreements reached 2.1 billion USD while the amounts of disbursed capital reached 530 million USD, 25 percent of the year’s plan. A total of 30,100 new businesses were also set up nationwide during this period. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Cao Viet Sinh said that the economic situation has changed positively; however, the economy is still not stable enough and lacks sustainability. In future, more attention must be paid to the domestic market, to increase demand, stimulate consumption and reduce stocks.
